Project Delivery Best Practices
This workshop introduces best practice to address common project management pitfalls. Attendees will also be given an opportunity to share best practices used in their environment.
The Balanced Scorecard
This session introduces key concepts and terms regarding a Scorecard. Other topics presented are related to the 5 W’s of a Balanced Scorecard.
Lean Six Sigma (LSS) Concepts and Tools
This session shares an approach to continuous improvement and its related concepts and tools.
The “Work-Out”
Work-out is a facilitated working session designed to identify “Low Hanging Fruit”, help prioritize potential new projects, and to develop solutions and actions that can be implemented in less than 90 days. This method is commonly used to develop and evaluate solutions for improvement and test solutions through a pilot plan.
Project Management Fundamentals
This course provides an introduction to project management fundamentals. Topics to be discussed are: the project life cycle; the role of a Project Manager and highlights of a Program Management Office. Material will also be presented on how to initiate a project, select the project management team and how to develop a project charter.
Project Management Toolkit (Part A & B)
This Toolkit is intended to be used as a guide for project management implementations. The Toolkit only includes key project management processes and does not provide a comprehensive view of all project management knowledge areas. Adjustments will need to be made to accommodate the complexities and uniqueness of each project or project environment. However, the primary focus of these overview session will be centered on five project management knowledge areas:
- Scope Management – Processes, procedures and tools required to effectively define scope and manage scope changes.
- Change Management – How to inform affected groups of key decisions around non-scope changes (e.g., date, policy, process, terminology, or deliverables).
- Risk Management – A risk is an event that impacts the schedule, budget or resources of a project. Topics discussed within this session will cover how to identify, assess and manage project risks.
- Document Management – A defined and organized method is required for tracking and storing project documents in a centralized repository. This overview will also address the creation, distribution, filing, retrieval, security, and retention of project deliverables.
- Project Performance Management – Includes processes required to ensure that the project will satisfy the needs for which it was undertaken. This overview will share techniques on how to assess the magnitude of project plan variations and methods on how to manage cross-project dependencies.
Project Planning Overview
This workshop will provide an overview on creating a work breakdown structure; assigning resources; projecting time estimates; the scheduling process and how to create a plan utilizing Microsoft Project. Attendees will be presented with a scenario that simulates the development of a project plan. This workshop will provide a high-level overview of the Microsoft Project Tool. Additional training is recommended to become highly proficient in utilizing the Microsoft Project tool.
Project Tracking and Reporting Overview
Topics to be discussed during this workshop include: monitoring, documenting, and communicating the project progress and performance. This overview session also introduces the elements of project close-out and a recommended status report.
Project Management Best Practices Overview
This workshop will allow personnel to highlight their successes, share lessons learned, network and identify opportunities for improvement on their current projects.
Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Overview
This half-day session provides attendees with a basic overview of the ITIL Service Lifecycle. The objectives of this course are to:
- Educate attendees on basic ITIL concepts.
- Build awareness regarding the ITIL Service Lifecycle.
- Help an organization prepare for change by providing a forum for its employees in a non-threatening environment to discuss lessons learned and suggestions regarding the alignment of ITIL to process improvement opportunities in their respective areas.
- Prepare attendees for the ITIL foundational certification exam.
- Pre-requisite for other ITIL training.
